Ado Hasanović is a Bosnian-Italian film director and film programmer based in Rome.
Born in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, then part of Yugoslavia, Hasanović studied film directing at the Sarajevo Film Academy and later at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. A Berlinale Talents Sarajevo alumnus, his work moves across documentary and fiction, black comedy, surrealism and musical storytelling. His first feature documentary, My Father’s Diaries, premiered at Visions du Réel in 2024 and went on to screen internationally. Alongside filmmaking, Hasanović works extensively in festival direction, programming, curation and film education. He is a member of the European Film Academy and the Filmmakers Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
